WHO WE ARE:
AAUP-UNH is both an advocacy chapter of the national AAUP, working to maintain academic freedom and an effective role for over 500 faculty in the governance of the University, and a labor union. As a labor union, AAUP-UNH negotiates with the USNH Board of Trustees all terms and conditions of employment for tenure-track faculty. These include, but are not limited to, salaries and benefits, faculty rights, procedures for promotion and tenure, grievance procedures, and procedures for non-reappointment or dismissal.

Primary Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)
Administrative:
- Provide support to the Executive Committee as needed, including scheduling of chapter meetings, managing travel arrangements, etc.
- Compute annual dues deductions and provide to UNH payroll.
- Provide organizational support during the grievance process and assist the Grievance Officer.
- Provide administrative support during Chapter elections and voting.
- Manage office correspondence and office procedures.
- Organize and purchase office supplies/equipment.
- Manage computer software and provide updates.
- Maintain official Chapter documents.
Financial:
- Co-Signatory on all AAUP-UNH financial accounts with Chapter Treasurer.
- Manage Chapter accounting and monthly banking reconciliation.
- Work with the Chapter Treasurer in preparation of annual audit.
- Provide budget details to the Chapter Treasurer.
- Collaborate with the auditor in ensuring a smooth annual audit process.
- Maintain payroll documents. Ensure monthly tax deposits, and file all tax returns, including year-end payroll tax documents.
- Administer staff benefits.
Database Management:
- Manage member database and provide updates to AAUP national and AFT-NH as needed.
- Provide membership data to the Executive Committee as needed.
Chapter Communication:
- Research, prepare, and distribute monthly newsletter to members.
- Communicate with faculty in a timely manner through email, chapter mailings, phone inquiries, and other forms of communication.
- Create, maintain, and update Chapter website and social media accounts.
- Maintain up-to-date membership email list.
Membership Recruitment:
- Participate in membership recruitment.
- Provide outreach support in enlisting membership participation in Chapter committees, organizing activities, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s required. Master’s or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Filemaker Pro (or equivalent database system), Quickbooks, Mailchimp, Square/Weebly, Dropbox. A willingness to learn new software and systems when necessary.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work assignments and the ability to work autonomously.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Familiarity with financial audit preparation and execution or ability to learn it.
- Familiarity with the higher education working environment.
- Knowledge or experience with labor unions is a plus.
- Familiarity with local, regional, state, and national legislative processes is a plus.

- Salary range of $55-60k, depending on experience
